Welcome to St Philomena’s Catholic Primary School
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to St Philomena’s Catholic Primary School.
For almost two centuries, St Philomena’s Catholic Primary School has been at the heart of our village community. Founded in 1836, we are immensely proud of our rich heritage and the enduring traditions that have shaped our school, whilst remaining firmly committed to providing a forward thinking education for every child entrusted to our care.
Nestled amongst beautiful green spaces, our school offers a tranquil setting in which children thrive both spiritually and academically. Our pupils, staff and families are united by a shared commitment to our Catholic values and to the pursuit of excellence, creating the distinctive sense of community that lies at the heart of our school. We are fortunate to work closely with our families, parish and wider community, recognising the important partnership between home and school in supporting every child to thrive.
At St Philomena's, we believe that childhood should be cherished and that every pupil should experience learning in a joyful and inspiring environment. Our children are happy, confident and curious, developing a genuine enthusiasm for learning as they grow in knowledge, understanding and self-belief. Alongside classroom learning, our children enjoy a rich and varied programme of experiences, including prayer and worship, sport, the creative arts, educational visits and opportunities to develop their talents, pursue new interests and make a meaningful contribution to our school and wider community.
We hope our website gives you a glimpse into the outstanding school community we are so proud of and the many opportunities our children have to pursue excellence, develop respect for others and serve our community.
It is a privilege to lead St Philomena's, and I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
With every blessing,
Mrs Anderson
